Green Armor: Lawsuit Filed by Phishing Victim Underscores Importance of Anti-Phishing Technology

February 16, 2010 - Hackensack, NJ - Green Armor Solutions, a leading provider of information security software, announced that a recent lawsuit filed against a bank by a victim of phishing underscores the importance of financial institutions utilizing proper authentication and anti-phishing technology. Experi-Metal Inc. (EMI) of Sterling Heights, MI has filed suit against Dallas-based Comerica claiming that Comerica exposed its customers to phishing attacks -- despite Comerica’s use of two-factor authentication using digital certificates for its online banking portal – since the phishing scam was able to circumvent these measures.

"We are proud that Green Armor's authentication technology helps defend against phishing, including the latest round of 'Phishing 2.0' type attacks," said Joseph Steinberg, C.E.O. of Green Armor Solutions. "We encourage financial institutions, healthcare providers, and others who handle sensitive Internet-accessible data to take proper precautions against phishing and not to rely strictly on classic authentication technologies, some of which have already proven vulnerable to these types of attacks."
